1st Gated Community in Laureate Park


A new gated residential community is on tap for Laureate Park in Lake Nona's Medical City.

The Orlando division of Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Taylor Morrison Home Corp. (NYSE: TMHC) launched The Preserve at Laureate Park, which will be the first gated community in the Laureate Park residential development. The community appears to be planned for 151 larger home lots in the area north of Tavistock Lakes Boulevard and west of Narcoossee Road, according to city of Orlando documents.

The Preserve is part of what’s being called “Phase 6” of Laureate Park in Lake Nona, which according to city documents will feature a total of 886 residences, including 747 single-family homes and 139 townhomes along with open space and a bicycle/trail network.

Here are some other news and notes happening on the residential side of Lake Nona:

  • Laureate Park sold its 1,000th home in March.

  • VillageWalk at Lake Nona is now completely sold out.

  • Landon House started pre-leasing the first of its 280 apartments on April 1 just across the street from the first phase of the $50 million Lake Nona Town Center. The complex features open floor plans in one-, two- and three-bedroom units with high-end finishes and resort-style amenities. Construction began on the complex in May 2015.

The fast-growing, 11-square-mile community of Lake Nona now boasts more than 10,000 residents, the schools have more than 7,000 students and the 600-acre Medical City life sciences hub employs nearly 5,000.

Additionally, the community is quickly building new shops and restaurantsand later this year plans to debut the new $70 million U.S. Tennis Association National Campus.
